Writing is an art, it’s a job, and it’s a hobby all rolled into one. While my career has also included editing, project management, and event planning, I always go back to writing. I love it and hate it—and hate that I love it.
My bachelor’s degree is in journalism and mass communication with a minor in English from Iowa State University. Before the overuse of it in AI, I was fond of em dashes (and parentheses) and could be swayed either way on the Oxford comma.
Speaking of AI, it’s here. That means my job is changing, but I’m ready to ride the wave. To me, that means using AI as a tool strictly according to the wishes of my clients. My keen eye for editing, years in the industry, and personal relationships with clients help me craft content that AI can’t replicate. Unless you are asking me to use AI as part of your process, you can expect my work to be done by me personally.
When not working, I’m often spending time with the people I love as a wife, mother, friend, and neighbor. Some of my favorite things include traveling, rock climbing, shopping at Trader Joe’s, listening to podcasts, reading the latest fiction, consuming chocolate, staying up too late, and celebrating Groundhog Day.
